How Long Will This Epidemic Last?

how long

“My belief is that when you’re telling the truth, you’re close to God. If you say to God, “I am exhausted and depressed beyond words, and I don’t like You at all right now, and I recoil from most people who believe in You,” that might be the most honest thing you’ve ever said. If you told me you had said to God, “It is all hopeless, and I don’t have a clue if You exist, but I could use a hand,” it would almost bring tears to my eyes, tears of pride in you, for the courage it takes to get real-really real. (Anne Lamott)

Here’s a talk on Psalm 13, in which David gets really real with God. Be encouraged whatever you’re going through…

  • Great message to encourage everyone who is struggling to cope just now, Simon.
I have been extremely honest with God at times because I know he knows my heart and he knows that my outburst is not disrespectful or irreverent, I still love and trust him, and that he is big enough to take it.
God bless you, your family and God bless Burundi.

  • Thanks for your heart and passion for God – it’s always clear from your messages. Your insights and wisdom are a great encouragement!

  • Thanks Simon, this message really hit the stop. Good to know I’m not the only one feeling exhausted and in a fog. I feel so very encouraged. Cheers

  • The permission I needed to be honest with God. Great to hear. There is a need for a podcast Simon.

  • Thank you Simon, this was so helpful and encouraging.
